The platform is one decision inside a larger system
Replatforming is often proposed as the fix for problems the platform did not cause. Inventory that disagrees across channels, product data that cannot be enriched at scale, orders that require manual intervention: none of these are solved by moving the storefront.
We assess the platform question in the context of the whole architecture, and a meaningful share of the time our recommendation is to keep what you have and fix what sits behind it.
Where we work
Depth varies by platform and we will tell you plainly where ours is deepest. Shopify Plus and Adobe Commerce are where we do the most enterprise work; commercetools where the architecture is composable; BigCommerce where multi-storefront catalogs and open APIs matter most.
- Shopify Plus: enterprise storefronts, headless builds, app and API architecture, Plus-specific operational limits
- Adobe Commerce: complex B2B, multi-store, and modernization of legacy Magento installations
- BigCommerce: multi-storefront catalog structures and open API integration
- commercetools: composable and headless architecture where the business genuinely needs it
- WooCommerce and Salesforce Commerce Cloud where the wider estate requires it
Marketplaces are part of the architecture, not a bolt-on
Amazon, Walmart and TikTok Shop each impose their own catalog, inventory and fulfillment physics. Treating them as separate systems is how brands end up overselling stock they do not have. They belong in the same inventory and product data architecture as the storefront.
